How to read like a writer

“If you’re a writer – or want to be one – you must also be a reader”: that is how Erika Dreifus, author of Quiet Americans, begins her guest post entitled ‘How to read like a writer, in five easy lessons’ on read.learn.write.com.

The post supports that assertion with a link to an excellent post on the same blog entitled 14 reasons writers have no business writing unless they read daily. And it then provides five links to further resources that explain why and how to read as a writer.

If you have a student who asks why, on a writing course, they’re expected to read, Erika Dreifus’s post provides a series of answers.
