Cover design: Teaching Creative Writing

Anthony Haynes writes: It goes without saying that we want all the titles in our Creative Writing Studies series to be a good read. We also want them, especially in their print editions, to be attractive artefacts – works that are good to hold, look at, and display (after all, books do furnish a room).

To achieve this, our cover designs by Benn Linfield use images from the paintings of the award-winning artist Rika Newcombe.

For Teaching Creative Writing (published in hardback, ePub, and PDF formats on 30 June 2012) we have chosen, as with Rethinking Creative Writing, an image from Rika’s ‘Ruins and Relics‘ gallery. Rethinking Creative Writing used No. 13 from that gallery: Teaching Creative Writing uses No. 14.

We’re pleased to confirm that subsequent titles in the series – Creative Writing: Writers on Writing, Studying Creative Writing, and Researching Creative Writing – will use images from the same gallery.
