Fictionfire: a Creative Writing website

Lorna Fergusson is contributing a chapter to our forthcoming publication, Studying Creative Writing.

She writes: Having worked as a creative writing teacher for a decade and as a literature teacher for more than twice that, I set up Fictionfire to provide inspiration and practical support for writers.

Apart from day courses which I run at Trinity College, Oxford, I offer workshops plus editing, critiquing and mentoring help. I can also give guest-talks and workshops. I aim to help writers develop their skills and creative confidence, along with a clear-eyed awareness of the challenges of seeking publication. I introduce them to techniques for bringing their work to completion and then to an audience.

Apart from details of courses and services on my website, www.fictionfire.co.uk, you’ll find the Writing Inspiration section where I post advice based on stimulating literary quotations, and a useful list of resources for writers. My blog, at http://literascribe.blogspot.com, takes a look at the business of books and the writing life and includes reviews, interviews and guest-posts.
