Anthony Haynes writes: Writing.ie is a well-organised, Irish-based, website which is still evolving. Judging by the events listing, it is kept up to date (though the ‘courses’ database is disappointing, especially regarding higher education courses).
The site provides content for both readers and writers. For the latter, it is strongest on fiction – its categories include literary fiction, women’s, general, historical, and crime. There is some coverage of other forms too, including poetry, non-fiction, and scriptwriting.
A strength of Writing.ie is the range of contributors, including several guest blogs. Perhaps of most interest to readers of Creative Writing Studies is the Writers’ Toolbox, which provides a series of practical resources.
PS This post is the second of a series of posts reviewing online resources in the area of creative writing studies.
