Even while his The Water Table was winning the TS Eliot Prize, Philip Gross was already at work on poems wrestling with the experience of being alongside his father’s gradual loss of language in old age.
The result is Philip’s new collection, Deep Field (Bloodaxe). Anyone interested in the human questions and the wider questions to do with language, writing and communication is welcome to hear Philip read, and then discuss.
The event, which is free of charge, will be held at the Quaker Centre, Friends House,173 Euston Rd, London, NW1 2BJ on Wednesday 7 December 2011 (18.00 for 18.30 start; finish 20.00).
